Cat. No. 5919/5919TH

DESCRIPTION:

The BRK Electronics Cat. No. 5919 is a 120V AC powered photoelectronic unit designed for both single and multiple station use, up to 18 units. Its sensor operated on the scattered light principle, and electronically compensates for ambient light conditions. The unit has its on 85dB electronic alarm horn, powered-on LED and test button. It is interconnectable and comes with a plastic bracket that mounts easily to 3" and 4" octagon, 4" square or single gang boxes. The 5919 comes with a plug-in connector.

This detector is designed so that, when interconnected, if any one of the units senses smoke, its LED will turn off and its alarm will sound. All other interconnected units will sound an alarm but their LEDs will remain on.

NOTE: All interconnected units must receive power from the same fuse or breaker.

Cat. No. 5919TH is identical to the 5919 but has a thermal sensor which is not connected to the unit. The thermal can be separately connected to a central control panel—ideal for hotels and hospitals. This sensor has its own plug-in connector and has a N.O. contact (Form A) rated 3A at 125V AC, a! at 30V DC.

SPECIFICATION

The smoke alarm shall be powered by a 120V AC, 650Hz. power source and shall be listed at .025A in standby condition. The alarm shall have a solid state photoelectronic sensor that operated on the scattered light principle. It shall be protected by an insect-resistant screen. The sensor shall sample the air at the alarm every 5 seconds and shall be designed to trigger an alarm if prescribed levels of smoke enter its chamber. The alarm shall electronically compensate for ambient light conditions and shall be cable of operating properly between 40° and 100°F (4°-38°C) and relative humidity between

10% and 90%. A built-in test button shall mechanically simulate the presence of smoke. A built-in light-emitting diode shall glow when AC power is being received. The alarm shall have an electronic alarm horn. It shall have a plug-in connector and be capable of interconnection with eleven other identical units. It shall be listed to UL 217.

BRK electronic 5919/5919 TH manual Description, Technical Specifications

5919/5919 TH specifications

BRK electronic has established itself as a notable brand in the field of safety technology with products that enhance fire and carbon monoxide safety in homes and commercial spaces. Among their acclaimed offerings is the BRK electronic 5919 and 5919 TH models, which are designed to provide reliable detection and alert systems for smoke and heat.

One of the primary features of the BRK 5919 is its advanced smoke detection technology. It uses a dual ionization chamber that detects both fast-burning and smoldering fires. This enhances the alarm's reliability, ensuring that users are alerted promptly in the event of a fire. Additionally, the model is equipped with a high-quality heat sensor. This is particularly valuable in areas prone to false alarms, such as kitchens, as it can differentiate between smoke from cooking and actual smoke from a fire, thus minimizing unnecessary disruptions.

The 5919 TH version takes safety a step further by incorporating an integrated carbon monoxide (CO) sensor. This dual functionality allows the device to detect not only smoke but also dangerous levels of carbon monoxide, a colorless and odorless gas that can pose serious health risks. The CO sensor operates with a low-level alarm that warns users before critical gas levels reach toxic thresholds.

Both models are user-friendly, featuring a clear LED display that indicates the operational status. A test button is also included, allowing users to easily check the functionality of the unit. Moreover, they come with a battery backup system, ensuring continuous operation even during power outages.

In terms of installation, the BRK 5919 and 5919 TH have a compact design that can be easily mounted on any wall or ceiling, making them suitable for a wide range of environments. The units are also designed to be tamper-proof, enhancing safety in settings such as schools or public buildings where unauthorized tampering could be a concern.

With their combination of smoke and carbon monoxide detection, user-friendly features, and robust performance, the BRK electronic 5919 and 5919 TH models stand out in the safety technology landscape. Their commitment to safety and innovation makes them essential additions to any safety-conscious environment, providing peace of mind to users.
