Step 1
From the Start menu, click Control Pa nel, then System. (Make sure you are in Classic View). Click the
Hardware tab, then Device Manager.
Step 2
You should see a category called Port s (COM & LPT) and a device called Prolific USB-to-Serial (C OM x)
(or something similar) where the x represents the COM number assigned to t he port by Windows.
