Something Wrong with your Cooker?

Before contacting your nearest Service Centre/Installer, check the problem guide below; there may be nothing wrong

with your cooker.

Problem Check
Ignition does not work

If all burners fail to ignit e:

Check that s parks appe ar at the bur ners;
A cli cki ng nois e shoul d be hear d.

If not

Check that the plu g is p lugged i n to a
13amp El ectri c so cket and the sup ply
is switched on.

If all burners still fail to i gnite

Top Cavity Grill Burner
Check and re place if nec essa ry the 13amp fu se

If only one burner fails to ignit e

Check that the burner is dry and that spillage of food or
cleaning fluid remains are not affecting the Ignitor or burner
ports.
Burner Ports Ignitor Clean away any debr is wi th a dr y nyl on brus h such as an
Hotplate Burner old dry toothbrush.
Hob Top If a wire wool pad has been us ed for c leani ng aro und the
burner ens ure the I gnitor is free fr om any stra y str ands.
Any water on the bur ner sh ould be dr ied wi th a c loth o r
kitchen towel.

parts ar e corr ectl y seat ed
Burner Ports Ignitor
Oven or Grill will not stay lit For correct ignition of oven/grill burners press the ignition button
when the control knob is released and then push i n and tur n cont rol k nobs ant i-c lock wise .
Control Panel Control Knobs Continue to p ress the igni ti on button u ntil the spa rk l ights the gas .
Once ali ght rel ease t he igni ti on button an d conti nue to hol d the
control knob i n for a f urther 6 to 10 s econds .
Then relea se the c ontrol knob a nd set to the requ ired t emperat ure.
The flame shoul d now stay ali ght.
If the flame does not hold and goes out wait 30 seconds and try
again
Oven Control Gril l Control
Oven Temper atur e seems t oo Check that the t emperat ure has been set i n acc ordanc e with
high or too low the temper ature c harts . It ma y be nec essar y to i ncrea se or
decrease the recommended temperature by 10 C to suit your
taste
Oven does not cook evenly. Check the temper ature and shel f posi tion a re as r ecomm ended
in the temperature charts
Check that the Utens il being us ed in t he oven al low suffi cie nt
air fl ow around them.
Check that the cooker is level.
Hotplates are slow to boil or will Check that your pa ns conf orm to the rec ommend ations in

Odour or smoke when using your new cooker T his is no rmal and shoul d ceas e after a shor t peri od.
Condensation / Steam in the Oven After Use Condensati on and ste am is a by pr oduct of cook ing food
with a water content.
To help mi nim ise always :
A) Try to avoid leaving food in the oven to cool after being c ooked
B) Use a c oved Ut ensil wherev er pos sibl e
Condensation on the Wall at the Rear of the Cooker S team an d/or c ondensati on may appear from t he vent at the re ar of
the appliance when using an oven, particularly when cooking foods
with a hi gh water c ontent ( Suc h as Ov en Chips or Chi cken) .
