Users can scan documents locally to the imageRUNNER 8500 internal User Mail Boxes, or over the network (network print option required) using Canon’s virtual TWAIN driver. In addition, the imageRUNNER 8500 can be upgraded to add Canon’s new Universal Sendcapability, allowing users to scan and “push” documents via communicating machines, including E-mail, I-Fax, FTP, and local areas networks.
