POWER SUPPLY￿

This calculator comes with a dual power source. The duration of alkaline battery depends entirely on individual usage.

(Note: Do not attempt to change the battery by yourself. Have a Canon Service Center change the battery for you).

AUTOMATIC POWER-OFF FUNCTION

When the power is turned ÒONÓ and none of the keys are pressed for more than 8 minutes, the calculator turns off automatically to

save power. Press key to restart the calculator. Ò0Ó will appear on the display.

Electromagnetic interference or electrostatic discharge may cause the display to malfunction or the contents of the memory to be lost or altered. Should this occur, use the tip

of a ball point pen (or similar sharp object) to press the [RESET] button on the back of the calculator. After resetting, be sure to set the tax rate again.

DECIMAL POINT SELECTOR SWITCH

Ð Used for designating the decimal point position (+ 4 3 2 1 0 F) for calculated results.

Ð Addition and subtraction functions are performed with an automatic 2-digit decimal. It is convenient for currency calculations.

Ð All effective numbers up to 12 digits are displayed.

ROUNDING SWITCH

Ð Used for round-up [ ] , round-off [5/4], or round- down [ ] to the pre-selected decimal digits in the result.

COST-SELL-MARGIN CALCULATION

Set the switch to "BUSINESS" to perform cost, sell and profit margin calculation.

Ð Used for calculating the cost, selling price and profit margin amount. Enter the value of any 2 items to obtain the balance value item. (e.g. enter the value of the cost and the selling price to obtain the profit margin.)

TAX CALCULATION

Store the Tax Rate Ð Press and enter the tax

rate figure, then press to store.

Recall the Tax Rate Ð Press to recall the current tax rate.

Add Tax Key Ð Used for adding the tax amount to the displayed figure.

Deduct Tax Key Ð Used for deducting the tax amount from the displayed figure.

OVERFLOW FUNCTION

In the following cases, when "E" is displayed, the keyboard is electronically locked, and further operation is impossible. Press to clear the overflow.

The overflow function occurs when:

1. The result or the memory content exceeds 12 digits to the left of the decimal point.

2. Dividing by "0".

FONCTION DƒPASSEMENT DE CAPACITƒ

Dans les cas suivants, lorsque Ç E È sÕaffiche, le clavier se verrouille Žlectroniquement et l'utilisation de la calculatrice devient

impossible. Appuyer sur pour Žliminer le dŽpassement de capacitŽ. Les circonstances suivantes provoquent le dŽpassement :

1.Le rŽsultat ou le contenu de la mŽmoire dŽpasse 12 chiffres ˆ gauche de la virgule dŽcimale.

2.La division par Ç 0 È.
