7.Replace main furnace door. (See Fig. 15.)

8.Turn ON the electrical supply to the furnace and wait 1 minute. (See Fig. 16.)

9.Open the external manual gas valve. (See Fig. 17.)

10.Set the room thermostat to a temperature slightly above the room temperature. This will automatically signal the furnace to start.

11.When the furnace receives the start signal, the inducer is started. When the pressure switch senses that there is suf- ficient combustion air, the hot surface igniter is energized. After the hot surface igniter is heated for 17 seconds, the gas valve permits gas to flow to the main burners. After ignition and a time delay of about 30 sec, the furnace blower will start. Variable-capacity furnaces start at low speed until the control makes the necessary adjustments to operate the blower at either the low- or high-heat speed.

58UVB specifications

The Carrier 58UVB is a high-efficiency gas furnace designed for optimal performance in residential heating applications. This model is part of Carrier's comprehensive lineup, known for its reliability and advanced technology. The 58UVB furnace exemplifies what consumers have come to expect from the Carrier brand in terms of engineering excellence and energy efficiency.

One of the standout features of the Carrier 58UVB is its two-stage heating capability. This technology allows the furnace to operate at a lower capacity during mild heating demands, which provides a more consistent temperature and increases overall energy savings. When colder temperatures require additional heat, the furnace transitions to its higher stage, ensuring that the home remains warm and comfortable regardless of the weather outside.

The 58UVB furnace is equipped with a variable-speed blower motor. This innovative feature enhances overall comfort by adjusting the airflow according to the heating needs in real-time. It operates quietly and efficiently, minimizing energy consumption while distributing heat evenly throughout the home. The soft-start technology also reduces drafts and temperature swings, resulting in a more pleasant indoor environment.

Another important characteristic of the Carrier 58UVB is its ability to integrate with smart home technology. This furnace can be equipped with Carrier's innovative iComfort S30 smart thermostat, allowing homeowners to monitor and control their heating system remotely via a smartphone app. This integration enables users to adjust settings, view energy consumption, and schedule maintenance reminders, enhancing both convenience and efficiency.

In terms of energy efficiency, the Carrier 58UVB boasts an impressive Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating of up to 80%. This high rating indicates that a significant portion of the fuel consumed is converted into usable heat, resulting in lower energy bills and a reduced carbon footprint. The furnace also features an insulated cabinet, which helps maintain efficiency by minimizing heat loss during operation.

Additionally, the 58UVB model comes with advanced safety features, including an integrated control board that helps manage operation and diagnostics. The durable heat exchanger is designed to ensure long-lasting performance and is backed by a robust warranty, further instilling confidence in this top-tier heating solution.

Overall, the Carrier 58UVB gas furnace combines advanced technology, energy efficiency, and user-friendly features, making it an excellent choice for homeowners in need of reliable heating performance.
