Changing the Auto Focus Area

Use the following procedure to change the metering area used for Auto Focus (AF).

1.In the REC mode, press [MENU].

2.On the “REC” tab, select “AF Area” and then press [X].

3.Use [S] and [T] to select the setting you want and then press [SET].

Half-pressing the shutter button focuses

the subject and also starts a focus

• This setting is best when you want to use focus lock (page 121).

When the shutter button is half-pressed, have the camera automatically select one or more of nine possible focus frames

• If the camera is able to focus on multiple points, all applicable focus frames turn green.
