FCU UTILITY FANS

PRODUCT SPECIFICATION GUIDE

1.0GENERAL

A.Fans shall be model FCU, as manufactured by Continental Fan Manufacturing Inc., of Buffalo, NY, and of the size, capacity and rotation as indicated on the drawings and fan schedule.

B.Fans shall be single width, single inlet, arrangement 10, class I.

C.Fans shall be rated and tested in accordance with ANSI/AMCA Standard 210-99.

D.All motors and electrical components shall conform to NEMA standards.

2.0FAN HOUSING

A.Fan housing and motor base shall be constructed of heavy gauge steel.

B.Fan housing shall be welded and bolted steel components.

C.Fan housing shall be coated with baked polyester powder coat finish.

D.Fan housing shall be capable of field rotation to any of 8 positions.

E.Motor base shall be constructed of welded steel components.

F.Motor base shall be coated with baked polyester powder coat finish.

G.Inlet cone shall be of rigid circular stamped steel material and shall be coated with baked polyester powder coat finish.

3.0FAN IMPELLER

A.Centrifugal impeller shall be forward curved, die-formed blades, machine riveted to die-punched back plate and rim.

B.Forward curved centrifugal impeller and inlet cone shall be factory matched for superior performance.

C.Forward curved centrifugal impeller hub shall be keyed directly to the solid steel drive shaft.

4.0FAN MOTOR AND DRIVE

A.Motor shall be TEFC industrial duty and conform to NEMA standards.

B.Motor shall be of voltage, horsepower, RPM and enclosure as indicated on the fan schedule.

C.The fan sheaves shall be cast iron, adjustable pitch, appropriately sized and aligned.

D.The fan belts shall be static conducting, plus oil and heat resistant.

E.The fan shaft shall be steel, turned, ground and polished.

F.The fan shaft bearings shall be lubricated, self-aligning ball type in cast iron pillow block mounts with external grease fittings. Bearings shall be 100,000 hours average life.

5.0OPTIONAL FAN ACCESSORIES

A.Where indicated, fans shall be provided with the following optional accessories:

Belt guard

Drain fitting

Heat slinger

Weather cover / drive cover

Inlet & discharge screen

Flanged inlet & outlet

Protective coating

Automatic discharge shutter

Inspection door (bolted or quick opening)

Vibration rail base (spring rail or RIS rail)

AMCA Type A, B or C construction

Motor

-Explosion proof

-Special duty

6.0FAN TESTING

A.Forward curved centrifugal impeller shall be balanced and mounted in fan assembly.

B.Fan assembly shall be run tested prior to shipment.

C.A test report shall be maintained on file for each individual fan.
