modules, line cards, and 2.5-G transponder trunk line cards. Slot 0 holds two half height optical OADM modules. Slots 1 through 4 and slots 7 through 10 hold the line cards and transponder cards. Slots 5 and 6 hold the CPU switch modules.

Power supplies are located on the right side of the chassis next to slot 10. Air inlet and fan tray assembly are located beneath the slots. Cable management is located beneath the slots. The system has an electrical backplane for system control. All optical connections are located on the front of the cards. Figure 1-1shows a fully populated chassis.
