READ THIS OWNER'S MANUAL AND SAFETY RULES BEFORE OPERATING YOUR CHIPPER-SHREDDER. Compare the illustrations with your chipper-shredder to familiarize yourself with the location of various controls and adjustments. Save this manual for future reference.

MEETS ANSI SAFETYSTANDARDS

OPERATINGCONTROLS(See figures 3 and 4)
CHOKE LEVER--Used to enrich the fuel mixture in the carburetor when starting a cold engine.
STARTER HANDLE--Used to manually start the engine.
THROTTLE CONTROL--Controls engine speed and stops the engine.
RELEASE HANDLE--Used to release the hopper when lowering to the ground.
BEFORE USING YOUR CHIPPER-SHREDDER, AGAIN REFER TO THE "SAFETY RULES" AS SHOWN ON PAGE 2 OF THIS MANUAL. ALWAYS BE CAREFUL.
The operation of any chipper-shredder can result in foreign objects being thrown into the eyes, which can result in severe eye damage. Always wear the safety glasses pro- vided with the chipper-shredder or eye shields before chipping or shredding, or while performing any adjustments or repairs. We recommend Wide Vision Safety Mask for over spectacles or standard glasses available at Sears Retail or Catalog Stores.
