Installing the Software Driver on Windows 2000

This section describes the procedure used to install a software driver on a PC running the Windows 2000 operating system. A software driver is required to operate the Modem. You have a choice of two different drivers, the LAN (Local Area Network) or WAN (Wide Area Network) driver. Only one driver is needed to operate the Modem and only one driver should be installed. The following instructions can be used for either the LAN or WAN driver since the installation procedure is identical for both drivers. If you are not sure which driver you should install, see the previous section Which Driver to Install for more information.

Install the Driver

The Plug and Play feature will automatically detect the Modem as soon as the USB cable connects the Modem and the PC, you will be prompted to begin the installation with the following window:

1.After the Modem-to-PC USB connection has been made, the “Found New Hardware Wizard” window will be displayed. Insert the Installation Disk in the CD-ROM drive if you have not already done so, and click the Next button.
