OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (cont’d)

DEFROST

When the machine is operated at low temperatures (less than 18°C), the surface of the evaporator may accumulate a layer of frost which would reduce the efficiency of the machine. When this happens the machine will go into periodic defrost mode. The machine will operate in temperatures down to 5°C. The time taken to defrost may vary. If the machine freezes up, it should be turned off at the power supply and re-started. If the room temperature remains below 5°C the machine should be switched off.

DEHUMIDIFYING

Dehumidifying is a means of removing moisture from the air. A dehumidifier will help to protect your home and valued possessions from damage (swelling) caused by moisture in the air. Essentially a dehumidifier removes moisture from the air as the moist air passes over a dehumidifying (evaporator) coil. Moisture is condensed on the evaporator coil, drained, and collected inside an internal (removable) water tank located at the front of the unit. The exhausted air being returned into the room environment is elevated several degrees, causing the surrounding air temperature to increase (slightly). This process also contributes to lowering the

relative humidity of the surrounding air.

DEHUMIDIFYING MODE SELECTION:

1)To turn the unit on, press the ON / OFF button.

2)Press the humidity or buttons to select a desired RH operating value (30%-90%).

FAN SPEED SELECTION: Select a fan speed on the keypad. The speed you select is identified by the (illuminated) indicator light located directly above the selection made.

NOTE: The fan runs constantly to circulate air and get a proper humidity reading; while fan only is running, no moisture will be removed from the air. Moisture is only removed when the compressor is running.

AIR FILTER

Your dehumidifier features a removable Air Filter. This filter is located at the front of the unit (behind the air intake grill) directly above the water tank compartment. The air filter plays an important role in helping to reduce (minimize) dust/dirt particles from the surrounding environment. A blocked / clogged air filter reduces air intake, impacting negatively on operating efficiency. To maintain maximum operating efficiency, the filter must be checked and cleaned regularly (every 2 weeks). More frequent cleaning may be required depending upon indoor air quality.

IMPORTANT: Never operate the unit without the air filter in place.

AIR FILTER CLEANING STEPS:

1)Pull the air filter out gently (Fig. 3).

2)Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner, or wash it with clean water and dry with a dry cloth.

3)Put the clean air filter back in place and continue to operate the dehumidifier.

DDR30E, DDR45E, DDR25E specifications

The Danby DDR series of dehumidifiers, specifically the DDR30E, DDR25E, and DDR45E models, are designed to efficiently manage humidity levels in both residential and commercial spaces. These units are equipped with advanced features and technologies aimed at enhancing performance, ease of use, and energy efficiency.

Starting with the Danby DDR30E, this model is ideal for small to medium-sized areas, effectively removing up to 30 pints of moisture per day. It's perfect for bedrooms, basements, or laundry rooms, helping to prevent mold and mildew growth. The DDR30E features a user-friendly control panel with an adjustable humidistat, allowing users to set their desired humidity level. Additionally, the continuous drain option provides convenience for longer periods of use without the need for manual emptying.

Next, the Danby DDR25E model offers similar capabilities, albeit slightly smaller in capacity, removing up to 25 pints of moisture daily. It is engineered for efficiency and portability, featuring lightweight design and easy-roll casters, making it simple to move from one room to another. The DDR25E also boasts an internal pump for drainage, which allows for higher placement of the unit without worrying about gravity draining.

The DDR45E stands out with its increased capacity, effectively removing up to 45 pints of moisture per day, making it suitable for larger spaces or areas with persistent dampness. This model incorporates a smart dehumidifying technology that automatically adjusts the fan speed to optimal levels based on room conditions, ensuring energy conservation without compromising performance. The washable air filter is another significant feature, allowing for easy maintenance and extended lifespan of the unit.

All three models utilize a refrigerant system that is both environmentally friendly and effective in dehumidifying, ensuring that users can maintain comfortable and healthy indoor air quality. These units also come equipped with an energy-star certification, ensuring that they operate efficiently, which helps reduce electricity costs.

In summary, the Danby DDR30E, DDR25E, and DDR45E dehumidifiers offer a range of capacities and features suitable for different needs. With their focus on user-friendliness, energy efficiency, and robust moisture removal capabilities, each unit stands as a reliable solution for maintaining optimal humidity levels in any property.
