The Latitude E-Family systems offer several options to protect your data and hardware better. Hardware Encrypted Data protection is available, can be activated within a few seconds centrally and can be much safer than software based encryption.

The Latitude E6500 and E6400 include a new feature called Dell ControlVault, which is an innovative security chip.

Dell ControlVault key features are:

ƒSingle location for end users credentials such as passwords and biometric templates.

ƒCredentials are securely located in firmware, outside of the attack vector of malicious applications.

ƒProvides capability to perform security processing/matching in firmware outside the scope of malicious applications.
