WORLD-CLASS ARCHITECTURE FOR

WORLD-CLASS PERFORMANCE

The Dell FX100 consists of a PCIe remote access host card housed in the host R5400 workstation and a remote portal device connected to

the PCIe host card via standard networking. Communication is accomplished using the world-class PC-over-IP®protocol, which can have many advantages. It is operating system and application agnostic, delivers the full capability of the graphics card housed in the host workstation, and offers full support for USB and audio. Using advanced compression algorithms and dedicated hardware acceleration to perform both encryption and compression, the FX100 delivers an outstanding remote user experience limited only by the network infrastructure. The portal device is a low power consuming, fanless, driverless, and stateless device. The simplicity of this advanced approach eliminates the need to equip the remote user with a second client device (with second operating system, specialized drivers, graphics subsystem, etc.).

FLEXIBLE COMPUTING FOR A CHANGING WORLD

The Dell FX100 is the ideal solution for workstation users who need to interact with their system when elsewhere on the network. Providing audio, multiple USB, and two DVI connections, the FX100 enables flexible configurations, including support for one or two screens. All interfaces are industry standard, ensuring all existing peripheral devices such as keyboard, mouse, printer, and headphones can be used. The Dell FX100 has been optimized for use with the Dell Precision™ R5400 Rack Workstation and includes remote user hardware support for powering up and down of the R5400 workstation and visibility to its

boot process.

PEACE OF MIND THROUGH ISV

APPLICATION CERTIFICATION

Use of the Dell FX100 remote access solution does not impact R5400 ISV application certification at all. Dell partners with leading ISVs to certify system and application compatibility to ensure optimized performance in demanding workstation environments. By maintaining strong relationships with ISV application developers, Dell engineers can provide ongoing optimization and support, should you need it.
