HELPFUL HINTS FOR USING THE DRIP COFFEE MAKER

1.Before using your DeLonghi Automatic Drip Coffee Maker for the first time, fill the carafe with water to the 10-cup level, and pour into the water reservoir. Follow the instruction below, omitting the paper filter and coffee. This will thoroughly cleanse the unit prior to the initial brew of coffee.

2.Always use fresh, cold tap water to brew coffee.

3.The Delonghi Longhi Automatic Drip Coffee Maker brews a maximum of 10 cups. Never exceed this maximum amount as shown by the markings on the carafe.

4.Use a fine drip grind coffee - that is recommended for automatic drip coffee makers.

5.The warming plate heats up when the drip coffee maker is switched ON. Avoid touching it, and never allow the power cord to come into contact with it.

6.The amount of freshly brewed coffee delivered after the brewing process will always be slightly less than the amount of water poured into the reservoir. This is due to the absorption of some water by the ground coffee. Therefore put in a little more water to begin with.

ELECTRONIC TIMER

The timer controls only the drip coffee maker

1.Plug the appliance into the wall socket (remember the safety instructions).

2.12:00 will appear on the display with the dots blinking (fig. A). (Make sure that the slider is in the “OFF” position).

3.Set the timer to the correct time of the day by pushing the “HOUR” and the “MIN” buttons.

Note: the LED in the upper-left corner of the display indicates the P.M. hours (fig. B).

4.Push the “BREW” and the “HOUR” buttons simultaneously and then the “BREW” and “MIN” buttons to set the start-up time of the appliance.

Note: once released the “BREW” button, the exact time of the day will be shown. To see the start-up time press the “BREW’ button.

5.Move the slider to the “AUTO” position. The LED “OFF” in the lower- right corner will turn on (fig. C).

At the programmed time the appliance will switch on.

The timer will automatically shut-off the appliance 3 hours after the switching on of the appliance to avoid waste of energy. If you want to have coffee at the same time the day after, move the slider to the “OFF” and then to the “AUTO” position. Doing so, the day after the appliance will automatically switch on at the programmed time.

6.If you want to make coffee without setting the timer (manual function), set the slider on the “ON” position. (fig. D). The “ON” pilot lamp will turn on.

7.If you want to switch off the drip setting maker, set the slider on the “OFF” position.

The timer is an electric clock and, as such, only operates p l u g g e d i n . W h e n e v e r t h e p l u g i s r e m o v e d o r t h e r e i s program set will be lost and it will be necessary to set again .
