(2) Playing in the AUTO DECODEmode

•In the auto decode mode it is possible to play in the Dolby Digital or DTS Surround mode, depending on the format of the input

signal.

•It is also possible to play in the Auto Stereo, Dolby Pro-Logic II Cinema/Music or Dolby Pro-Logic mode, according to the 2-

channel mode setting.

•When PLIICINEMA, PLII MUSIC or PRO LOGIC is selected in the 2-channel mode, more detailed parameters can also be set

for the different modes.

PLIIMUSIC mode: Use the procedure described below to make the settings.

PLIICINEMA and PRO LOGIC modes: Refer to step 6 on pages 24 and 25.

•Program sources marked in parentheses and 2-channel sources (CDs, etc.) are decoded using Dolby

Pro-Logic IIprocessing and played in the multi-channel mode.

qCinema (PLIICINEMA) mode: This mode is suited for movies and other Dolby Surround programs.

wMusic (PLIIMUSIC) mode: This mode is suited for stereo music programs.

ePro-Logic (PRO LOGIC) compatible mode: This is the conventional Dolby Surround Pro-Logic mode.

the individual functions.

•It is not possible to play DTS digital input sources in the

Dolby mode.
