Technical Specifications CR72

CINEMA SERIES

The input connector – a 2-terminal barrier strip that accommodates bare wire, tinned leads or spade lugs - is located on top of the enclosure. The enclosure features a textured black finish to elimi- nate visual intrusion of visible surrounds. For safety, the cloth grill is attached with multiple threaded fasteners.

COMPONENTS & CONSTRUCTION

The CR72 two-way, passive, full range cinema surround loudspeaker system includes one 8-in cone transducer mounted in an optimally vented enclosure and one 1-in soft dome driver coupled with a WGP®. The LF and HF sections are integrated with a complex, multicomponent passive crossover/filter network which tailors HF response to match the SMPTE/ISO 2969 response curve.

The enclosure is constructed of 3/4-in Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF). Extensive internal bracing is employed to minimize panel resonances resulting from the large acoustical energies generated within the enclosure while maximizing acoustical energy transfer into the audience area.

Input connectors, located on the top of the enclosure, are 2- terminal barrier strip, designed to accommodate bare wire, tinned leads or spade lugs. For safety, the black cloth grill is attached with multiple threaded fasteners.

CR72 specifications

The EAW CR72 is a prominent model in the realm of professional sound reinforcement, known for delivering exceptional audio quality and reliability in various live sound applications. Designed with advanced technology and user-friendly features, the CR72 is particularly suited for concert venues, corporate events, and outdoor festivals.

One of the standout features of the EAW CR72 is its powerful amplification system. With a robust output of 2,000 watts, it ensures that even the most demanding audio environments are covered with clarity and precision. The integrated digital signal processor (DSP) enhances performance by optimizing sound dispersion and tailoring audio output to specific venue acoustics. This technology allows sound engineers to achieve a balanced mix across different frequencies, resulting in an immersive listening experience.

The CR72’s construction is equally impressive. Its cabinet is crafted from durable birch plywood, providing both strength and resonance control. The design incorporates advanced acoustic engineering principles, allowing the speaker to minimize distortion and deliver a smooth response across its operational frequency range. This attention to material choice and structural design also contributes to the longevity and reliability of the system, making it a dependable choice for touring professionals.

Another notable characteristic of the EAW CR72 is its versatility. The speaker offers multiple connectivity options, including XLR and Speakon connectors, enabling seamless integration with a variety of audio sources and mixing consoles. Moreover, the CR72 can be deployed in various configurations, including ground-stacked or flown setups, making it adaptable for different venue layouts and sound reinforcement needs.

The advanced thermal management system in the CR72 further enhances its performance. It incorporates intelligent cooling technology to prevent overheating, allowing the speaker to operate efficiently over prolonged periods without compromising audio quality. This is particularly valuable during long events where consistent performance is essential.

In summary, the EAW CR72 is a robust and versatile speaker system, characterized by its powerful output, advanced DSP technology, durable construction, and flexible deployment options. Whether used in a small venue or a large outdoor event, the CR72 continues to stand out as a preferred choice among audio professionals, ensuring that every performance conveys clarity and presence in sound.
