Freezing Fresh Food

Make sure that your freezing operations are carried out under the most hygienic conditions as freezing alone does not sterilize the food. It is best to freeze the food by packing it into separate meal portions and not in bulk form. Never put hot or warm foodstuffs into the refrigerator. Prior to storing the fresh food, pack it in plastic bags, aluminum sheets or freezing containers and place into the refrigerator.

Defrosting

You may defrost this refrigerator once every few months or whenever ¼” of frost develops in on the walls.

Remove the electrical plug from the wall socket, open the door and remove all contents. Defrost using a plastic scraper, or let the temperature rise naturally until the frost melts, then wipe away the remaining ice and water. You may also want to clean the unit at this time. Once you have finished, plug the refrigerator back in and make sure the temperature knob is still set where you would like it to be set.

Note that under refrigerating settings, the unit will automatically defrost under most ambient conditions. However, the colder the settings, the more frost will build up. Additionally, the more humid the ambient conditions, the more frost will
