Note: Ceiling mounting is recommended - do not wall mount alarms.

Sloping Ceiling

In areas with sloping or peaked ceilings install the alarm 900mm from the highest point measured horizontally (see Figure 2). This is because “dead air” at the apex may prevent smoke from reaching the unit.

4.1 Locations To Avoid

DON’T place Multi-Sensor Fire Alarms in any of the following areas:

Bathrooms, kitchens, shower rooms, garages or other rooms where the alarm may be triggered by steam, condensation, normal smoke or fumes. Keep at least 6 metres away from sources of normal smoke/fumes.

DON’T place Heat Alarms in any of the following areas:

Bathrooms, shower rooms or other rooms where the unit may be triggered by steam or condensation.

DON’T place Multi-Sensor Fire Alarms in any of the following areas:

Places where the normal temperature can exceed 40°C or be below 4°C (e.g. attics, furnace rooms, directly above ovens or kettles etc.) as the heat/steam could cause nuisance alarms.

Near a decorative object, door, light fitting, window moulding etc., that may prevent smoke or heat from entering the unit.

Surfaces that are normally warmer or colder than the rest of the room (e.g. attic hatches). Temperature differences might stop smoke or heat from reaching the unit.

One of the standout features of the Ei2110 is its advanced optical sensing technology. This technology detects smoke using a light source, making it highly effective in identifying smoldering fires that produce large smoke particles. This sensitivity increases the alarm's response time, providing earlier warnings compared to traditional ionization smoke detectors.

Another critical characteristic of the Ei2110 is its easy installation process. The smoke alarm is designed to be user-friendly, allowing homeowners and businesses to install it with minimal effort. Additionally, it comes with a built-in test button, enabling users to ensure that the alarm is functioning correctly at any time.

The Ei2110 is equipped with a long-life battery, featuring a sealed lithium battery that provides up to 10 years of continuous protection. This battery eliminates the need for frequent replacements, making it a low-maintenance option for users. Furthermore, the smoke alarm has a built-in hushing feature that allows users to silence false alarms temporarily, such as those caused by cooking fumes.

One of the most significant advancements in the Ei2110 is its interconnected capability. Multiple Ei2110 units can be linked together, so when one alarm detects smoke, all interconnected alarms will sound, providing a comprehensive early warning system throughout the premises. This feature is particularly beneficial in larger homes or commercial buildings, ensuring that all occupants are alerted promptly in the event of a fire.

The design of the Ei2110 also reflects modern aesthetics and functionality. Its sleek, unobtrusive design blends well with various interior styles, making it a suitable addition to any space. Additionally, the unit is designed to be tamper-proof, further enhancing its reliability and ensuring that it remains operational at all times.
