1.4.3 Micro Adjust Function
The microadjust function lets you set the TOFand tear off positions. Afterthe printer is putin this
mode,you can adjust the top of form (TOF)position up or down in increments of 1⁄216 inchby
pressing the or button. Theadjusted TOF position is saved to the EEPROM.If the
printeris turned off, the setting is not cleared. Thefunction is operational in the printer underthe
followingconditions and within the following area:
Conditions required for theadjustment
TheTOF position can be adjusted underthe following conditions:
1. Thedata buffer is emptyand the printer is on line.
2. Paperis at the TOF position.
3. The buttonis held down more than3 seconds toput the printerin micro adjust mode.
Adjustable area
Micro adjustpositions canbe set within thefollowing range fromthe topedge of the page:
3 mm~8.5 mm , 8.5mm ~ 2 87.9 mm
(0.12" ~ 0.33", 0.33" ~ 11.34")
1.4.4 Tear Off Function
The tear off function advances continuous paper to the tear off position when the button is
pressed. There are two modes for this function: autotea r offand manual tear off. The tear off mode can be
selected in the default setting mode. After the paper is torn off at the perforation, it is fed back to the TOF
position when any new print data is sent to the printer. The tear off position is saved in the EEPROM, and if
theprinte r isturned off, the setting is notcleared.
Conditions required for theadjustment

❒Auto tearoff has beenset to ON in defaultsetting mode.
❒Therele ase lever hasbeen setto Tractor.
❒Thedata buffer is empty,and the printer is on line.
❒More than3 seconds havepassed after thehost computer finished transferringprint data.
❇Manual tear off function
❒Auto tearoff has been set to OFF in default setting mode.
❒The releaselever has been set toTractor.
❒The data buffer is emptyand theprinter is on line, orthe printer isoff line.
❒The button waspressed under all the conditions listedabove.
Paper handling withthe tearoff position
❒Pressingthe button with theprinter off linefeeds the paper backto the TOF
positionfor the next pageand brings the printer backon line.
❒Pressingthe button with theprinter on line feeds thepaper back tothe TOF
positionfor the next pageand takes theprinter off line.
❒Pressingthe button feeds thepaper back to the TOF positionfor the next
pageand executes a linefeed.
❒Pressingthe button feeds the paperback to theTOF position for the next
pageand ejects paper backward.
❒Pressingthe button more than3 seconds puts the printer in micro adjustmode,
where youcan adjust thetear off position by pressing the or button.
❒Ifthe printer is turnedoff while in thetear off mode, thetear off position is saved, and
paperis fed back to theTOF position for the nextpage by turningon the printer, again.
