To reset the AutoExposure feature to its default values:

On a PC, press the Alt key and click the AutoExposure button.

On a Mac, press the Option key and click the AutoExposure button.

Applying AutoExposure Without Removing an Image’s Color Cast

Sometimes an image has a distinctive overall color, or color cast. AutoExposure automatically looks for and balances any color cast in the image.

Although you will usually want to remove a color cast from your scanned images, sometimes a color cast may be desirable. For example, a photograph of a sunset might have red color cast. In this case, you probably would not want to remove the color cast.

To activate AutoExposure without correcting an image’s color cast, hold down the Shift key and click the AutoExposure button .
