Transporting the Scanner and the Transpa rency Unit
When transporting the scanner or the Transparency Unit over a
long distance, or storing them for an extended period, you need
to lock the scanner’s carriage and the Transparency Unit’s lamp
assembly, to prevent damage. Follow the procedures below.
For the scanner
1. Make sure the transportation lock lever is in the UNLOCK
position.
2. Align the SCSI ID rotary switch wi th "✽".
3. Turn on the scanner.
4. After the carriage moves to th e back of the scanner, slide th e
transportation lock lever to its LOCK position.
For the optional Transparency Unit
1. With the Transparency Unit attac hed, turn on the scanner and
wait until the unit’s lamp assembly moves to its home
position. Then turn off the scanner and rem ove the
Transparency Unit.
