User can choose between three different black ink modes to optimize black ink density for

Photo Black Mode (7-Color Mode)
Photo Black Ink + Light Black Ink + CcMmY
Optimized for traditional photographic and ink jet-coated media types, such as EPSON Premium
Luster, Premium Semimatte, etc. producing the highest level of photographic image quality
Black D-Max up to 2.0
Matte Black Mode (7-Color Mode)
Matte Black Ink + Light Black Ink + CcMmY
Optimized for matte or plain paper media types such as Enhanced Matte, EPSON Fine Art Papers,
etc. where the highest level of photographic image quality is desired
Black D-Max up to 1.69 (vs. a black D-Max up to 1.49 if using Photo Black Mode)
Dual Matte Black Mode (6-Color Mode)
Matte Black Ink + Matte Black Ink + CcMmY
Optimized for matte or plain paper medias such as newsprint and plain bond paper, where
print speed is favored over photographic image quality
