BATTERIES

Remove the battery compartment cover by pushing it in the direc- tion of the arrow. Install two ‘AA’ batteries according to the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked next to the compartment. For easy removal, place the batteries on top of the lift-out ribbon.

POWER ON/OFF AND SLEEP TIMER

Turn the radio on with the POWER/SLEEP button, on the right side of the radio. A quick, short press engages the sleep timer with 60 minutes of playtime and the sleep timer symbol appears in the up- per right corner of the display. To select a different time, press the POWER/SLEEP button immediately after the radio turns on, selecting 60, 45, 30, 15, 10, 05, 120, 90 or 75 minutes.

To defeat the sleep timer, turn on the radio by pressing the POWER/ SLEEP for about two seconds. To turn it off, press the POWER/SLEEP button.

It’s normal for the display to become lit for about 5 seconds, every time that a button is pressed, except with the RADIO/BUZZER but- ton, on the right side of the radio.

VOLUME

Use the volume knob, on the left side, to adjust the volume.
