HOW TO MAINTAIN

The filters play a very important role in the efficiency of the vacuum cleaner. If the filters become clogged, no air can pass through the cleaner and no cleaning takes place regardless of how powerful the unit. To keep the cleaner operating at maximum efficiency, check the filters frequently and clean when necessary.

Some fine particles can restrict airflow very quickly and will decrease performance. When vacuuming carpet fresheners or cleaners, plaster dust, or similar fine substances, clean the filters more often.

NOTE: Turn off the switch and unplug the electrical cord before servicing the vacuum.

Emptying the Dust Compartment

Empty the dust compartment after each use or as necessary. When the compartment is full the dust will settle in the filter.

For ease of use, it is recommended that the dust compartment be emptied regularly.

Cleaning/Changing Filters

There are two filters in your Whirlwind. The cleaner must never be used without the filters. A safety device prevents the insertion of the compartment if Filter 1 is not in place. Do not try to force the dust compartment shut.

Cleaning of Filter 1 When the Filter Indicator Light Comes On

Remove and empty the dust compartment as detailed above. Release the filter frame from the dust compartment lid. Remove filter from filter frame. Remove loose fibers and larger particles from the filter.

Hand wash the filter. Remove excess water and leave to air dry. The filter must not be tumble-dried.

Place the dry filter back into the filter frame. Place the filter frame back onto the dust compartment lid and put the dust compartment back into unit.

NOTE: The filter must be completely dry before it is replaced.
