The VXA-172 PacketLoader is

the world’s only tape autoloader to provide up to 1.7 TB, at 24 MB/sec and offer “on- demand capacity” through an affordable and easy firmware

upgrade that increases capacity up to 3.2 TB.

In addition to the “on-demand” capacity, the VXA-172 Packet- Loader offers the scalability of different media sizes (172 GB X10 or 80 GB X6), lowering the overall cost of ownership.

VXA Packet Technology

VXA Packet Technology writes and reads data in small, digital packets, much like the Internet. This is a significant difference from all other tape technologies, which rely on costly and expensive track-based technologies.

VXA Packet Drives and Autoloaders offer:
