Figure 3-1 — Three remote control options

1Using the projector’s IR remote — For a projector with variable audio outputs, use the projector’s IR remote to control the projector’s volume, which effectively controls the MPA’s volume.

2Extron VCM 100 or mute controller — For a projector without variable audio outputs, or for a system designed to control MPA volume directly, use a 10k ohm potentiometer to control the MPA directly via the remote port on the MPA.

3Using a MediaLink™ Controller — For a projector with variable audio output, use a MediaLink controller to control the projector’s volume via RS-232 or the projector’s IR remote to effectively control the MPA volume.

Extron Electronics is known for its innovative solutions in the field of professional AV systems, and among its comprehensive range of products, the MPA 122 stands out as a highly versatile audio amplifier. Designed to deliver clear and powerful audio in various applications, the MPA 122 is particularly well-suited for installations in conference rooms, classrooms, and other environments where high-quality sound reinforcement is essential.

One of the main features of the Extron MPA 122 is its ability to deliver 2-channel power, with output capabilities of 2 x 60 watts into 4-ohm loads. This dual-channel setup allows for extensive variances in configuration, catering to both stereo and monaural applications. Users can leverage the compact design of the MPA 122, which takes up minimal rack space while providing ample audio output.

The MPA 122 incorporates Extron's advanced Class D amplifier technology, which ensures high efficiency and low power consumption while still delivering impressive sound quality. This technology contributes to reduced operating costs and less heat generation, making the amplifier ideal for integration into tight spaces.

Another characteristic that enhances the MPA 122's appeal is its wide range of input options. The amplifier features both balanced and unbalanced inputs, including 3.5mm stereo and Euroblock connectors. This flexibility simplifies integration into existing systems, allowing users to connect various audio sources seamlessly.

The amplifier also offers comprehensive signal processing capabilities. Integrated DSP features include comprehensive equalization and limiting functions, which allow users to fine-tune the audio output for specific environments. This level of customization ensures that the sound produced is balanced and appropriate for the specific space being used.

Moreover, the MPA 122 is equipped with a built-in priority mixing capability. This function allows one signal to take precedence over others, making it ideal for applications that require announcements or emergency message broadcasting.

Reliability is another key consideration with the MPA 122. The unit is designed for long-term, continuous use and comes with a robust cooling system to prevent overheating during extended operational periods.

In conclusion, the Extron MPA 122 is a high-performance audio amplifier that combines compact design with extensive capabilities.
