8.4.2 Scan Rate
The nextfu nction in the main menu is the scan rate. The scan rate can be set
from .1 to 100 °C/min. The maximum scan rate howeveris actually limited by
the natural heating or cooling rate of the instrument. This is often less than 100
°C/min, especially when cooling.
The scan ratefunction appears in the main menu after the scan control function.
The scan rateunits are in degrees per minute, degrees C or F depending on the
selected units.

8.5 TemperatureDisplay Hold
The instrumenthas a display hold function which allows action of an external
switch to freeze thed isplayed temperature and stop the set-point from scan-
ning. Thisis useful for testing thermal switches and cut-outs. This section ex-
plainsthe functions available for operating the temperature hold feature. An
examplefollows showing how to set up and use the hold feature to test a
