Sample Uses
✽For full-screen playback on a wide-screen or high-definition TV or to print at HV (Hi Vision) size, select a quality
setting for Widescreen mode shooting.
While the “C-AF” button is pressed, the camera continues to focus on the main subject in the AF
frame. Use this button to take pictures of a moving subject.
CONTINUOUS AF
PHOTOGRAPHY FUNCTIONS
Available Photography mode:
Set the Power switch to “q”.
Set the Mode dial to “B”, “m”, “,”, “.”, “/”,
“N”, “M”, “<” or “>” mode.
Frame the shot so that the subject fills the center of
the image or the entire AF frame.
Press the “C-AF” button.
While the “C-AF” button is held down, the camera
continuously focuses on the main subject inside the
AF frame.
Press the shutter button down halfway (AF/AE lock)
without releasing the button, press the button down
fully to take the picture.
This allows you to shorten the focusing time.

! Continuous AF is disabled in the AF AREA or MF (Manual
Focus) modes.
See P.61 for information on changing focus mode.

! Using the “WIDE/STD” switch while the “C-AF” button is
pressed cancels Continuous AF mode.

Because you cannot check the focusing using the
viewfinder, continuous AF is only available when
the LCD monitor is used.

◆Quality setting in high-sensitivity mode ◆
When a high-sensitivity setting (ISO 800) is selected, the “5”, “T”, “µ” and “≤” quality modes are
no longer available. The “`”, “2”, “3”, “E”, “™” and “£” quality modes can be selected.
