Check your Turbotrimmer before each use

vAlways visually inspect your Turbotrimmer before each use.

vCheck that the ventilation slots are not obstructed in any way.

Do not use your Turbotrimmer if the safety devices (push button, safety cover) and/or the filament cassette are damaged or worn.

vNever bypass the safety devices.

vInspect the area to be cut before you begin work. Remove any foreign objects (such as stones). Look out for foreign objects (such as stones) while you are working.

vIf you should come across an obstacle while cutting, turn off the Turbotrimmer. Remove the object and check the Turbo- trimmer for any damage. If necessary have your Turbotrimmer repaired.

Use / responsibility

The Turbotrimmer can cause serious injuries.

vUse the Turbotrimmer only for the purpose specified in these operating instructions.

You are responsible for the safety in the area where you are working.

vEnsure that there are no other people (especially children) or animals within or near the area where you are working.

vNever use the Turbotrimmer if the safety devices are damaged or defective.

Unplug the mains plug after use and check your Turbotrimmer, especially the filament

vKeep the extension cable away from the area you are cutting.

Take extra care when walking backwards. You may stumble!

vOnly work in the daylight or when visibility is good.

Interrupting work

Never leave the Turbotrimmer unattended where you are working.

vIf you stop work, unplug the mains plug and store your Turbotrimmer in a safe place.

vIf you stop work in order to move to another part of the garden, always switch off the Turbotrimmer, wait until the tool stops and then unplug the mains plug.

Familiarise yourself with the surroundings

vFamiliarise yourself with the surroundings and look out for possible dangers which you may not hear due to machine noise.

vNever use the Turbotrimmer when it is raining or in damp, wet areas.

vDo not operate your Turbotrimmer directly next to swimming pools or garden ponds.

Electrical safety

Check the power cord regularly for damage and signs of wear and tear.

Do not use your Turbotrimmer if the power cord is damaged.

v If the mains cord or extension cable is

damaged while you are working, unplug

the mains plug immediately.

Working position:

 

 

Position the additional handle 6 so that the cutting head 7 is tilted slightly forward when you hold the Turbotrimmer in the working position.

1.Unscrew the tightening nut 8, move the additional handle 6

to the correct position and tighten the nut 8 by hand.

to the correct angle, then release the adjusting button B.

1.Press the start button C on the handle 3. The Turbotrimmer starts.

2.Release the start button C on the handle 3. The Turbotrimmer switches off.

vAlways wear an eye shield or safety goggles!

vWear sturdy shoes and long trousers to protect your legs. Keep your fingers and feet away from the cutting filament – above all when starting work.

vAlways ensure that you have a secure foothold whilst working.

Do not touch the cable until the mains plug

is switched off.

The socket of the extension cable you are using must be waterproof.

vOnly use permitted extension cables.

vAsk your electrician.

For all portable units that are operated out- doors we recommend using a fault circuit breaker.

In Switzerland the use of a residual-current device is obligatory.

Trimming along lawn edges and in awkward places:

1.For vertical cutting, loosen the tighten-

ing nut 8, turn the additional handle 6 180° and then tighten the nut 8 again by hand.

2.Swivel the plant guard D backwards to the park position until it clicks into place.

3.Lift the Turbotrimmer by the handle 3 and additional handle 6 and turn to the cutting position.

4.When trimming between paving stones, hold the Turbotrimmer so that the cutting filament moves slightly above the paved ground.

3. Operation

Risk of injury!

Risk of injury if the Turbotrimmer does not switch off when

 

you release the start button.

VNever bypass the safety devices (by binding the start button to the handle, for example).

Filament feed (Tip mechanism The filament is lengthened automatically when the motor is
