Naming the computers and the

workgroup

The first time you use networking on your computer, you need
to give each computer a unique name and assign each
computer to the same workgroup.
If you are naming the computers and workgroup in
Windows2000, see “To identify a Windows 2000 computer on
the network:” on page28.
If you are naming the computer and workgroup in
Windows98SE or WindowsMe, see “To identify a
Windows98SE or Window s Me computer on the network:” on
page26.

computer on the network:

1Click Start, Settings, then click Control Panel. The

Control Panel window opens.
2If you are using WindowsMe, click view all Control
Panel options.
3Double-click the Network icon. The Network dialog box
opens.
