For all types of presentations, Hitachi LCD Projectors offer the total balance you need.

A total balance of superior performance

and functions.

Hitachi’s exclusive Progressive Circuit meets the demands

for high picture quality in the digital era.

Motion Adaptive Progressive Scan
Excellent image quality with every type of source
Black Level Enhancer
Emphasizes black areas for easier-to-watch images

A common problem with projectors is that when they display im- ages with a mixture of bright and dark parts, the black gradation is lost so the black parts appear to float. Hitachi’s Black Level En- hancer shifts the level of the black signal, which extends from 0% to about 20% of the image signal, to match it to the blackest level. This blackens the parts that appear gray due to the “floating” black, without altering the bright parts, thus ensuring a clear con-

The goal was achieving not only high brightness, but also superior image uniformity.

Drawing on our extensive experience in video cameras and projection TVs, Hitachi developed a unique optical system for these projectors. By optimizing the LCD panel and multi-lens illumination system as well as the color system of the mirror and other parts, we achieved our goal of outstanding image uniformity. You see an image that is consistently bright and clear in all parts of the screen.

Most projectors use a line doubler to convert the interlaced image into a progressive image. Hitachi's Motion Adaptive Progressive Scan system is far superior, using Field Interlacing to provide twice as many lines. Line flicker is reduced and the fine scanning lines prevent noticeable distortion even on a large screen, so images are clearer and easier on the eyes. Progressive Scan is the key to the high quality moving images achieved by these projectors.

Noise Reduction System
No loss of detail

This system compares past images with present images to remove excessive noise during display. High precision noise reduction is achieved because processing is done inside the progressive circuit. As a result, you’ll enjoy clearer images.

3/2 Pull-Down System for Cinema Mode
Reproduces the original feeling of movie film

Movie film has 24 frames per second and video has 60 field per second. The 3/2 Pull-Down System compensates for this differ- ence by repeatedly allotting one frame of the film to two television frames and the next frame of the film to three video frames. Be- cause the conventional video image output method processes the input signals only as normal interlace input signals, it can cause blur and color errors. The Hitachi-developed progressive circuit process all 60 fields as still pictures and it detects 3/2 pull down to accurately reproduce the original images and texture of film.

Brightness of 2,700 ANSI lumens and light weight of only 6.4kg (14 lbs.).

Thanks to the use of a 1.3" polysilicon active matrix TFT panel with Micro-Lens and a 250W UHB lamp, the CP-X985 achieves outstanding brightness of 2,700 ANSI lumens.* Since the image is clearly visible even in a bright room, your audience can read documents and take notes while they watch your presentation. Yet even with this high performance, the projector weighs only 6.4kg (14 lbs.), so you can easily carry it from room to room. And the slim 12cm (4.7") body makes it easy to install on ceilings.

Handles the next generation of HDTV signals.

The CP-X985/CP-X980 will handle not only SDTV (Standard Def- inition TV) signals, but also HDTV (High Definition TV) signals, so you can experience the beautifully realistic quality of these images on a large screen.

* SDTV: 480i, 480p, 570i HDTV: 720p,1080i
