When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or

 

damaged in any manner. Return appliance to

 

manufacturer for examination, electrical or mechanical

 

adjustment, or repair.

A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. DO

 

NOT use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable

 

liquids are used or stored.

Use appliance only for intended household use as

PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1.

Carefully remove your heater from the box. (Please

 

save the carton for off-season storage.)

2.

Make sure the heater is OFF before plugging the heater

 

into the outlet.

3.

Place heater on firm, level surface.

4.

Avoid overloading your circuit by not using other high

interrupts the beam for three or more seconds, the heater turns off and the above icon illuminates. Once the obstruction is removed and the beam reconnects, the icon turns off and the heater restarts.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY TECHNOLOGIESAuto Safety Shut-Off

This heater is equipped with a patented, technologically advanced, safety system that automatically shuts off the current to the heater when a potential overheat temperature

is reached and illuminates the corresponding icon. When this occurs, you must reset the heater.

1.Turn the [Heat Control/Mode] to OFF (Power).

2.Unplug the heater and wait 30 minutes.

3.Plug in and turn ON (Power) the heater.

Back-Up Safety Fuse

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1.Plug heater into outlet. The heater will perform the SafetyMaxSelfCheck Panel verification. (See SafetyMaxSelfCheck Panel for more details about this feature.)

2.Press the Power Button (Power) to turn the heater ON. The Timer LED will illuminate indicating that the 4-Hour Safety Timer has been activated and the heater will perform the SafetyMaxSelfCheck Panel verification. (See 4-Hour Safety Timer for more details about this feature.)

3.Press the Timer Button (Timer) to turn the 4-Hour Safety Timer and Timer LED OFF. The heater will operate continuously on full power.

4.Press the Power Button (Power) at any time to turn the heater OFF.

5.If a safety icon is illuminated, please follow the instructions associated with that icon.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If your heater fails to operate, unplug the heater and:

Make sure the electrical outlet and circuit breaker are working.

Check for obstructions. If you find an obstruction, turn OFF and UNPLUG the heater. Carefully remove the obstruction and follow the reset instructions.

NOTE: Remotes used for other household products may interfere with the contact sensor and cause the heater to shut off. The heater will automatically resume operation when the remote control is no longer being used.

When unplugging, be sure to pull by the plug and not

 

the cord.

DO NOT insert or allow foreign objects to enter any

 

ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an

 

plug from outlet.

Avoid the use of an extension cord because the

 

extension cord may overheat and cause a risk of fire.

 

However, if you have to use an extension cord, the cord

 

shall be No. 14 AWG minimum size and rated not less

 

than 1875 watts.

If the heater will not operate, see specific instructions on

 

Auto Safety Shut-off.

18.

DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or

 

mechanical functions on this unit. Doing so will void

 

your warranty. The inside of the unit contains no user

 

serviceable parts. All servicing should be performed by

 

qualified personnel only.

19.

Discontinue use if plug or outlet is hot. It is

 

recommended that the outlet be replaced if plug or

 

outlet is hot to touch.

SAFETYMAXTECHNOLOGIES

Your heater features two new revolutionary safety technologies, the SafetyMaxSelfCheck Panel and the SafetyMaxInvisible Contact Sensor. Both safety features automatically activate when you turn on your heater.

SafetyMaxSelfCheck Panel

The patented SafetyMaxSelfCheck Panel verifies that the four safety features function, each time you plug in or turn on your heater. The icon for each safety feature will blink and turn off to indicate that the SafetyMaxSelfCheck Panel verification is complete for that safety feature. In the unlikely event that one of the safety features is not functioning, an icon illuminates letting you know that a problem has occurred and the heater will not run. Please

Tip-Over Protection

This unit is equipped with tip-over protection. If the unit is accidentally knocked over, it instantly shuts off and the above icon illuminates.

Place the heater in an upright position and the heater automatically restarts.

4-Hour Safety Timer

This unit is equipped with a 4-hour safety timer which is activated when you turn on the heater. The built-in LED light (Timer button) will illuminate letting you know the 4-Hour

CLEANING/MAINTENANCE

Always unplug the heater before cleaning.

Lightly run a vacuum cleaner nozzle over the heater grill to remove any dust or dirt that may have accumulated.

Carefully wipe the heater with a soft, damp cloth. Please be very cautious near the motor and heating elements.

The accumulation of dust or other substances on the contact sensor may cause the heater to function improperly. Keep the sensors clean by gently wiping them with a soft damp cloth.

NEVER use abrasive or flammable solvents to clean the heater.

After cleaning, be sure to completely dry the heater with a cloth or towel.

Store your heater in its original carton in a cool, dry location.

THIS PRODUCT IS EQUIPPED WITH A POLARIZED PLUG (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact qualified personnel to install the proper outlet.

SafetyMaxInvisible Contact Sensor

F E AT U R E S - O P E R AT I O N S The patented SafetyMaxInvisible Contact Sensor is an invisible infrared beam that protects the front grill from potential hazards. If an object
