A. To Put the Air Pistol "ON SAFE:" |

Like all mechanical devices, an air pistol safety can fail. Even when the safety is "ON SAFE", you should continue to handle the air pistol safely. NEVER point the air pistol at any person. NEVER point the air pistol at anything you do not intend to shoot
B.To Take the Air Pistol "OFF SAFE":
•Push the safety from the right side all the way in.
•The air pistol is ready to fire when "OFF SAFE". When you can see the RED line on the left side of the safety, the air pistol is "OFF SAFE" and can be fired.
3.Adjusting the Trigger
•To ensure crisp, consistent action of the trigger, a set screw has been incorporated into the trigger guard to allow each shooter to set the trigger
somewhere in between.
•Make sure the air pistol is unloaded (section 7B),
•Turn the set screw all the way in with a hex wrench (fig. 3).
•Cock the bolt by pushing the bolt handle up and pulling it all the way back until you
hear two clicks. Close the bolt and push the bolt handle down to lock.Fig 3If• Point the air pistol in a SAFE DIRECTION, take "OFF SAFE" (section 2B) and pull the trigger.
the pistol does not fire, turn the set screw counterclockwise in ½ turn increments until it fires.
• Turn an additional ½ turn. |
NOTE: We recommend the use of Crosman® brand Powerlet CO2 cartridges. They are made to fit the Model 2300 air pistol. Other brands of CO2 cartridges may not fit properly and if you force them into place it may result in injury to you or damage to your air pistol. Never try to force any CO2 cartridge into or out of place. Do not store your air pistol with a CO2 cartridge in it.
WARNING: CO2 cartridges may explode at temperatures above 120°F. Do not mutilate or 
incinerate them. Do not expose them to heat or store CO2 cartridges at
temperatures above 120°F.
B.Removing the CO2 Cartridge.
•Put the air pistol "ON SAFE" (See Section 2A).
•Slowly turn the filler cap
•Pull the filler assembly from the action tube and remove the empty CO2 cartridge by pointing the muzzle of the air pistol down.
7. Loading and Unloading Pellets
WARNING: Use .177 caliber pellets only in your Model 2300S. Never reuse ammunition. Use of any other ammunition can cause injury to you or damage to the air pistol.

• Put the air pistol "ON SAFE" (See Section 2A). |
|
• Point the air pistol in a SAFE DIRECTION. |
|
• You should follow the instructions under section 6A- Installing a CO2 cartridge prior to loading |
|
a pellet into your air pistol. |
|
• Open the bolt by pushing the bolt handle up and pulling it all the way back (fig. 7). |
|
• With the bolt in the rearward position, place one pellet, nose first, into the loading port |
|
(breech). This is a single shot pellet air pistol. Load no more than one pellet at a time. |
|
|
• Lightly push the pellet into the barrel by closing the bolt and pushing the bolt handle down to lock. DO NOT jam the bolt forward. This will damage your air pistol.
• Be sure the bolt is closed before firing. If it is not closed and fully locked, the pellet may not be discharged.
B. Unloading Pellets By Firing Your Air Pistol
• The most common way to unload a pellet is to fire your air pistol in a SAFE DIRECTION following Section 8 on aiming and firing safely.
NOTE: The air pistol must be charged with CO2 to fire but remember, do not store your air pistol with a CO2 cartridge in it (See Section 6B).

• You can unload your air pistol without firing. |
•Put the air pistol "ON SAFE" (See Section 2A).
•Remove the CO2 cartridge (See Section 6B).
•Open the bolt (See Section 7A - Fig. 7).
•Insert a ramrod of the proper size into the barrel (start at the muzzle). The barrel could be damaged if the proper sized cleaning rod is not used.
•Push the pellet into the pellet loading port (forward of the bolt) (Fig. 8).
•Do not reuse that pellet.
8.Aiming and Firing Safely
A.Aiming the Air pistol
•Always point your air pistol in a SAFE DIRECTION.
•Follow the instructions for installing a CO2 cartridge (Section 6A) and loading pellets (Section 7A).
•You and others with you should always wear shooting glasses to protect your eyes.
•Do not shoot at hard surfaces or at the surface of water. The pellet may bounce off or ricochet and hit someone or something you had not intended to hit.
•Always choose your target carefully. For example, you may wish to shoot at paper
•Your air pistol is designed for target shooting and is suited for both indoor and outdoor use. Always remember to place your target carefully. THINK about what you will hit if you miss the target.
•When you are sure of your target and backstop, and the area around the target is clear, cock the air pistol, load, take the airgun "OFF SAFE" (See section 2B) and pull the trigger to fire.
B.Sight Adjustment
•The 2300S air pistol comes with a Williams® notch sight. The sight is adjustable for elevation (up or down adjustment) (fig. 9). Turning the elevation adjustment knob clockwise will move the sight and point of impact down. Turning the elevation adjustment knob
•The rear sight may also be adjusted to shoot right or left (windage). Turn the windage adjustment knob by turning it counterclockwise. Move the sight to the right to make the pellet hit to the right on
the target. Move the sight to the left to make the pellet hit to the left on the target. Then tighten the windage adjustment screw by turning it clockwise.
•The air pistol is correctly aimed when the front post sight is positioned exactly in the center of the notch of the rear sight. The top of the front sight blade should be even with the top of the notch in the rear sight. The

•Put the air pistol "ON SAFE" (See Section 2A).
•Empty and remove the CO2 cartridge (See Section 6B).
•Open the bolt (See Section 7A - Fig. 7).
•Insert a ramrod of the proper size into the barrel (start at the muzzle). The barrel could be damaged if the proper sized cleaning rod is not used.
•Push the jammed pellet into the pellet loading port (forward of the bolt) (fig. 8).
•Do not try to reuse that pellet.
•If you are not able to unjam your air pistol by following this procedure, take no further action. An Authorized Service Station will unjam your air pistol (no cost during the warranty period).
10.Maintaining Your Air pistol
•Before you attempt to oil your air pistol, make sure the air pistol is "ON SAFE", unloaded and the CO2 cylinder has been removed (See Sections 2A, 7B and 6B ).
•Put 1 drop of Crosman 0241 Pellgunoil® on the tip of every CO2 cylinder to help maintain your air pistol. DO NOT use petroleum distillate based oil or solvent and DO NOT
•Your air pistol will maintain proper function longer if you place one drop of oil on the bolt
•DO NOT MODIFY OR ALTER YOUR AIR PISTOL. Attempts to modify the air pistol in any way inconsistent with this manual may make your air pistol unsafe to use, cause serious injury or death, and will void the warranty.
•If you drop your air pistol, visually check to see that it works properly before you use it again. If anything seems changed, like a shorter or weaker trigger pull, this may mean worn out or broken parts. Call Crosman customer service for assistance before using your air pistol again.
11.Reviewing Safety
•Never point the air pistol at any person or at anything you do not intend to shoot.
•Always treat the air pistol as though it is loaded and with the same respect you would a firearm.
•Always aim in a SAFE DIRECTION. Always keep the muzzle of the air pistol pointed in a SAFE DIRECTION.
•Always keep the air pistol ON SAFE until you are ready to shoot.
•Always check to see if the air pistol is "ON SAFE" and unloaded when getting it from another person or from storage.
•Always keep your finger off the trigger and out of the trigger guard until ready to shoot.
•You and others with you should always wear shooting glasses to protect your eyes.
•If your reading or prescription glasses are not safety glasses, make sure you wear shooting glasses over your regular glasses.
•Use .177 caliber (4.5 mm) pellets only. Never reuse ammunition.
•Do not shoot at hard surfaces or at the surface of water. The pellet may bounce off or ricochet and hit someone or something you had not intended to hit.
•Place the backstop in a location that will be safe should the backstop fail.
•Your backstop should be checked for wear before and after each use. All backstops are subject to wear and will eventually fail. Replace your backstop if the surface is worn or damaged or if a ricochet occurs.
•Do not attempt to disassemble or tamper with your air pistol. Use an Authorized Service Station. Using unauthorized repair centers or modifying the function of your air pistol in any way may be unsafe and will void your warranty.
•Always keep your CrosBlock trigger block in place when storing this air pistol. Store air pistol in a secure location (See CrosBlock instructions packaged with this air pistol for assistance.)
•Before you store your air pistol, make sure that it is unloaded, not charged, and that the air pistol is "ON SAFE."

4. Adjusting the Trigger Pull |
Your air pistol is designed with an adjustment to change the trigger pull from 1 to 4 lbs. CAUTION: The adjustable trigger can be adjusted below 3 lbs, and when it is adjusted below 3 lbs, the air pistol could fire when dropped.
•To test the trigger pull, make sure the air pistol is unloaded (section 7B) and
•Cock the bolt by pushing the bolt handle up and pulling it all the way back until you hear two clicks. Close the bolt and push the bolt handle down to lock.
•Pull the trigger.
•If the trigger pull is not at desired weight, remove one of the grips - left handed shooters remove the right grip, right handed shooters remove the left grip.
•Turn the dial (fig. 4) moving it up or down depending on the results wanted. To increase the trigger pull turn the dial so that it moves up. To decrease the trigger pull turn the dial so that it moves down.
• Test the pull again and repeat until desired result is found. |

5. Adjusting the Velocity |
|
|
Your air pistol is designed with an adjustment for the velocity. You can set your air pistol for |
|
|
higher velocity (and fewer shots) or for lower velocity (and more shots). |
|
|

PERFORMANCE
Many factors affect velocity, including brand of projectile, type of projectile, amount of CO2 in cartridge, lubrication, barrel condition and temperature.

6. Installing and Removing CO2 Cartridge |
|
WARNING: Keep hands away from escaping CO2 gas. It can cause frostbite if allowed to come in contact with skin. Always make sure the CO2 cartridge
is empty before attempting to remove it from the air pistol by slowly turning the filler cap counter- clockwise all the way until you no longer hear the escape of CO2 gas.
A.Installing a New CO2 Cartridge
•Make sure the air pistol is "ON SAFE" (section 2A)and UNLOADED.
• Slowly turn the filler cap
2gas.
•Pull the filler assembly from the action tube and remove the empty CO2 cartridge by pointing the muzzle of the air pistol down.
•Insert the new CO2 cartridge into the air pistol with the small neck of the CO2 cartridge into the action tube first (fig. 6).
•Replace the filler cap assembly in the action tube. Screw the filler cap completely into place until finger tight only.
•Cock the bolt by pushing the bolt handle up and pulling it all the way back until you hear two clicks. Close the bolt and push the bolt handle down to lock.
•Point the air pistol in a SAFE DIRECTION, take "OFF SAFE" (See Section 2B) and pull the trigger.
•Cock the bolt again, point the air pistol in a SAFE DIRECTION, take "OFF SAFE" (See Section 2B) and pull the trigger
•If the air pistol does not make a popping noise after pulling the trigger, the CO2 is not being discharged. In that event, tighten the filler cap slightly and repeat cocking the bolt and firing the air pistol until there is a popping noise, which will mean the air pistol is releasing CO2 with each pull of the trigger.
•Return safety to the "ON SAFE" position (See Section 2A).escape of CO
REPAIR SERVICE
If your air pistol needs repair, we recommend you take or send it to your nearest Crosman Authorized Service Station. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISASSEMBLE IT! Your air pistol requires special tools and fixtures to repair it. Any disassembly or modification not performed by an Authorized Service Station will void the warranty.
A SPECIAL CUSTOMER SERVICE
Crosman Authorized Service Stations will unjam your air pistol at no cost during the warranty period.
LIMITED ONE YEAR WARRANTY
This product is warranted to the retail consumer for one year from date of retail purchase against defects in material and workmanship and is transferable. To register the serial number of your air pistol, please return the air pistol registration form. The warranty is not conditioned on the return of the card. You should retain the original sales receipt as record of date of purchase.
