The HP PhotoSmart digital camera operates on 4 AA alkaline batteries.
To insert new batteries:
1.Make sure the camera lens cover is closed (the camera is off).
2.To open the battery compartment, slide the battery compartment cover and remove it from the camera.
3.Remove all of the old batteries. Use the battery release tab to lift each battery out of the compartment.
4.Insert four new batteries, making sure the +/- electrodes are facing the proper direction (see the diagram on the inside of the battery compartment).
Caution: Use only alkaline batteries. Replace all four batteries at the same time. Do not replace them individually. Always follow instructions on the battery package when handling batteries.
5.Replace the battery compartment cover by placing it in the grooves and sliding it until it clicks into place.
