4.Determine how your network is configured and the network protocols that your printer will use (such as peer-to-peer, client/server, using TCP/IP or IPX/SPX. Then, using the appropriate chapter in this guide for your network environment, configure the printer on the network.

5.Distribute the installation software for the printer (printer drivers) to each end user or place disk images of the installation software in a public directory so end users can install the printer software on their computers. Using the installation software or disk images on the public directory, install or have end users install the printer software on their computers.

6.Connect other computers or have end users connect their computers to the printer by either selecting the queue or port to which the printer is connected.

7.Verify the computer and printer are configured correctly by printing a test page from an application on the computer to the printer.
