Maximum number of nodes

A maximum of 16 nodes are supported in a Serviceguard Storage Management Suite CFS configuration.

Single network option

The Veritas Storage Foundation™ 5.1 SP1 Cluster File System Administrator's Guide refers to the option for a single network during installation. This is not relevant in a Serviceguard Storage Management installation. SG SMS creates GAB/LLT configurations on the same networks that have Serviceguard heart beats.

Configuring low priority a link

The Veritas Storage Foundation™ 5.1 SP1 Cluster File System Administrator's Guide discusses configuring a low priority link. This is not relevant and should not be done in a Serviceguard Storage Management Suite environment.

Split-brain and jeopardy handling

The Veritas Storage Foundation™ 5.1 SP1 Cluster File System Administrator's Guide requires I/O Fencing and SCSI-3 PGR for split-brain and jeopardy handling. This is not relevant in a Serviceguard Storage Management Suite environment, where Serviceguard provides mechanisms for handling split-brain, data integrity, maintaining cluster coherency, and membership with multiple redundant Servicegaurd heart beat networks.

Coordination point server

The Coordination Point Server is mentioned in several places in the Veritas Storage Foundation™

5.1SP1 Cluster File System Administrator's Guide, but it is not used in a Serviceguard Storage Management Suite environment, where Serviceguard performs these functions.

Administering SFCFS global clusters

The Administering SFCFS global clusters section in the Veritas Storage Foundation™ 5.1 SP1 Cluster File System Administrator's Guide discusses setting up a disaster recovery “fire drill”. This fire drill procedure is not supported in a Serviceguard Storage Management Suite environment. See Designing Disaster Recovery Clusters using Metroclusters and Continentalclusters, April 2011 (p/n 5900-1484) available at: www.hp.com/go/hpux-serviceguard-docsHP Serviceguard Continentalclusters

Clustered network file system (NFS)

Chapter 5 in the Veritas Storage Foundation™ 5.1 SP1 Cluster File System Administrator's Guide discusses using Clustered NFS, but it is not specific to a Serviceguard Storage Management Suite environment. For information on Clustered NFS in a Serviceguard Storage Management Suite environment, see Serviceguard NFS Toolkit Support for Cluster File System available at: www.hp.com/go/hpux-serviceguard-docsHP Serviceguard NFS Toolkit White papers

Common internet file system (CIFS) support

Chapter 6 in the Veritas Storage Foundation™ 5.1 SP1 Cluster File System Administrator's Guide discusses the Common Internet File System (CIFS), but it is not relevant in a Serviceguard Storage Management Suite environment. For information on CIFS in a Serviceguard Storage Management Suite environment, see HP CIFS Server Administrator's Guide, April 2011 (p/n 5900-1282) available at: http://www.hp.com/go/hpux-networking-docsHP-UX Common Internet File System (CIFS) Client/Server Software
