NAME

li¯s - list contents of a LIF directory

SYNOPSIS

lifls [ option ] name

DESCRIPTION

lifls lists the contents of a LIF directory on standard output. The default output format lists ®le names in multiple columns (similar to ls(1), except unsorted) if standard output is a character special ®le. If standard output is not a tty device, the output format is one ®le name per line. name is a path name to an HP- UX ®le containing a LIF volume and optional ®le name. If name is a volume name, the entire volume is listed. If name is of the form volume:®le, only the ®le is listed. The following options are available, and only one option should be speci®ed with a given command:

-lList in long format, giving volume name, volume size, directory start, directory size, ®le type, ®le size, ®le start, "implementation" ®eld (in hex), date created, last volume, and volume number.

-CForce multiple column output format regardless of standard output type. -LReturn the content of the "last volume ¯ag" in decimal.

-iReturn the content of the "implementation" ®eld in hex. -vReturn the content of the "volume number" in decimal.

-bblist

Report only on ®les using block numbers speci®ed on the command line in blist, a comma separated list of block numbers in DEV_BSIZE units.

Do not mount the special ®le while using lifls.

DIAGNOSTICS

lifls returns zero if the directory was listed successfully. Otherwise it prints a diagnostic and returns nonzero.
