The IllumiNite Plus™ plugs into a standard household outlet and can be set to illuminate manually or automatically through a photocell sensor. When AC power fails, the IllumiNite Plus™
When AC power is restored, the IllumiNite Plus™ automatically begins recharging for future use. In the event of a daytime power outage, the photocell senses ambient room light to prevent LEDs from turning on and saving battery life.

AUTO Power Mode Operation (recommended)
If you want your IllumiNite Plus™ to turn on automatically each night or in the event of a power outage, slide the selector switch to Auto. When the photocell senses darkness it automatically turns the lights on. On Auto, the LEDs automatically illuminate in the event of a nighttime power failure, and the photocell prevents lights from turning on during a daytime power failure.
In the event of a power outage only one LED illuminates in Auto. This feature saves battery life in case you are asleep or away from home during the power outage. To use more LEDs during a power outage, slide the selector switch to On and choose your LED preference.
