When battery operated, the Module will shut down if the key pad has not been used for three minutes. When a transformer is used, the hand held module will beep and remain on.

Regardless of the power source, if Protocol™ is not communicating with the hand held module, a beep will sound and a COMM ERROR message will appear. If the Protocol™ system is without power , the hand held module will beep and show an ALARM message.
