(General Purpose)

EQUIP.EXE is a diagnostics program that is useful for determining hardware compatability problems between your computer and the instrument that is connected to it. This program indicates the status of the major modem lines on all RS-232C ports in your computer. Run the program by typing

EQUIP

and pressing the return key. The display will show something like:

Communications Parameters

PORT - this indicates which serial (communications) port on your computer is connected to the instrument. If COM1 is not found, the baud rate listed under the CONFIGURED line will read -1. Restart the program by striking any key, type

EQUIP COM2

and press the return key.
