GRINDING WHEEL MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

Disconnectairsupplyfromgrinderorshutoffairsupplyandexhaust(drain)air lineofcompressedairbeforemountingorremovinganyabrasivewheelorwire brush,orotherwiseperformingmaintenanceor serviceto thetool.

Checkgrinderspeedbeforemountinggrindingwheel(orothertypeaccessory) withareliabletachometertomakesurethattheactualspeedofthegrinderdoes notexceedits ratedfreespeed.

Checkoperatingspeedofgrindingwheelorwirebrushtobeusedwiththegrind- er.The maximumoperatingspeedmarkedon the grindingwheel,blottersor packaging,shallequalorexceedtheratedfreespeedofthegrinder.Also,the typeandsizeof thegrindingwheelorwirebrushshallbecompatiblewiththe grindersizeandtype.

Check abrasive wheels prior tomounting for chips or cracks. Cracked or wheelsshallnotbeused.

Caremustbetakenthatagrindingwheel,or wirebrush,ofthecorrectspeedrat- ingisused.RatedwheelcapacitiesforArogrindersaremaximumonly.Regard- lessoftheratedcapacityandspeedofanyArogrinder,abrasivewheelsorwire brushesshallneverbeoperatedata speedgreaterthanthatrecommendedby thewheel(orbrush)manufacturer.

DressingAbrasiveWheels.Uponmountingagrindingwheel,thetoolshouldbe operatedat graduallyincreasingspeedandcheckedfor goodbalanceofthe wheel.If unbalanceisobserved,thewheelshallbedressedIf.dressingfailsto establishacceptablebalance,thewheelshallnotbeused.

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR MOUNTED WHEELS

FOR USE WITH 33226-( ), 41753-( ) OR 44127-( ) COLLET ASSEMBLIES.

Thecolletshallbecheckedtoassureitto beingoodconditionandproperlyaf- fixedto thegrinderspindle.

Themandrelshallbeinsertedtothefulldepthofthegrippingjawsofthecollet.At least1/2the mandrellengthshallbeinsertedintothecollet.

Themaximumsafeoperatingspeedformountedwheelsshallbedeterminedby thefollowing:1.)Shapeandsizeofthemountedwheel,2.)Sueofmandreland

3.) Overhang of mandrel. Inno case shall the maximum safe operating speed rec- ommendedbythewheelmanufacturerbeexceeded.
