SAFETY SUMMARY

To ensure the safe installation, adjustment, and opera- tion of Tub Bar, these instructions MUST be followed:

GENERAL WARNINGS

DO NOT install this equipment without first reading and understanding this instruction sheet. If you are unable to understand these Warnings, Cautions and Instructions, contact a healthcare professional, dealer or technical personnel if applicable before attempting to install this equipment - otherwise, injury or damage may occur.

Always check the tub bar for proper tight- ness before using.

The tub bar provides support and increases stability for an individual weighing up to 250 lbs (114 kg). The tub bar is NOT designed to support the total weight of an individual.

Use the tub bar for assistance ONLY.

Hold the tub bar securely when entering or exiting the bath tub.

DO NOT use the UPPER gripping position (handle) of the tub bar when lowering or raising yourself into or out of the bathtub. The UPPER gripping position (handle) is NOT designed to support an individual's total weight. Pushing or pulling the UPPER gripping position (handle) in a sideways motion will loosen the tub bar from its secured position and may cause injury.

Apply DOWNWARD force on the LOWER gripping position ONLY when lowering or raising yourself into or out of the bathtub (FIGURE 1).

INSTALLATION WARNINGS

Bathtub construction varies and this prod- uct may not be appropriate for use on all bathtub styles. Bathtubs with sloped inner walls may not provide the tub bar sufficient holding ability. Given this condition the assembly can become dislodged during use. After installation, verify that the device holds as expected. Always verify that the device is secure prior to use.

DO NOT use this device on bathtubs with lipped walls.

DO NOT overtighten adjustment knob. Instability to the tub bar and/or bath tub damage can occur.

NOTE: For lipped bathtubs, wall mounted grip bars are available.
