NOTE: Ensure you have ALL Windows Critical Updates from the Microsoft Windows Update Site.
The Windows Update feature can be a convenient way to make sure you have all the latest patches and bug fixes that Microsoft didn't bother including in the boxed version of Windows. However, if you have more than one computer, or you have a slow connection, it can be tedious and quite inconvenient to be forced to download all the files over and over again.
Please go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com, click on "Product Updates" to to download the latest Critical Updates for your Windows OS.
Although there's no mention of it on the Windows Update site, Microsoft has made all of the updates available for separate download (for installing later) here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/downloads/corporate.asp
