En algunos casos, la instalación de solo un (1) amplificador podría ser suficiente para sobrecargar el sistema eléctrico de fábrica (ej., alternador). Dependiendo del estado de su sistema eléctrico y de las condiciones generales de su vehículo, puede que necesite renovar su alternador y batería. Luego de encender el vehículo, el alternador provee la energía a su sistema eléctrico, no la batería. Cuando el motor está funcionando, el alternador es su principal fuente de energía. Renovar el alternador debe ser su primera opción si experimenta una caída del voltaje en el sistema cuando opere el audio. Agregar capacitores y/o baterías sin renovar el alternador empeorará el problema porque estos dispositivos agregan carga extra al alternador. Luego de cambiar el alternador, pueden instalar los capacitadotes y/o baterías si lo desea.

Conecte el cable de energía principal a la batería, a 18 pulgadas del polo positivo (+) de la batería, usando un tamaño adecuado de fusible o un interruptor de circuito capaz de manejar la corriente del cable seleccionado. Un fusible o interruptor de circuito se debe instalar para prevenir posibles incendios eléctricos por si el cable de energía principal causa corto circuito a tierra.
