Program AE

You can record videos or still images with optimum brightness by adjusting the exposure and shutter speed to suit your surroundings or the subject.

Set the program AE dial to the desired setting (5 to /).

For details on each setting, see below.

Set the program AE dial to 4 (auto recording mode).

5 NIGHT:

Records with more sensitivity in dim locations by adjusting the shutter speed automatically.

3TWILIGHT:

Makes evening scenes look more natural.

6 PORTRAIT:

The subject in the foreground is accentuated by blurring the background.

H SPORTS:

Records fast moving subjects clearly.

G SNOW:

Compensates for subjects that may appear too dark when shooting in extremely bright surroundings, such as in snow.

/ SPOTLIGHT:

Select this when a spotlight makes a subject appear too bright.

Backlight Compensation

Backlight compensation brightens the subject by increasing the exposure.

Preparation:

Slide the mode switch to select ! mode.

Set the program AE dial to “3”.

1 Touch the MENU button.

2 Select [BACKLIGHT COMP.].

3 Set to [ON].

LTo cancel backlight compensation Select @ and select [OFF].

ND Filter

The amount of light that enters the lens is reduced by the filter. Therefore, the aperture value can be raised or shutter speed lowered, in situations such as when recording videos outdoors in sunny weather.

Preparation:

Slide the mode switch to select ! mode.

Press the SELECT PLAY/REC button to select recording mode.

LTo deactivate the ND filter

Press the F/ G button so that the G indicator turns white.

NOTE

We recommend that the ND Filter is not used indoors, because there may not be enough light.
