Scene Select

Adjusts the exposure and shutter speed to suit your surroundings or the subject.

Preparation:

Select the recording mode.

1 Turn the recording dial and set to SCN.

The current scene mode will be displayed only when SCN is set using the recording dial.

(It does not appear when turning on the power or switching from the playback mode.)

The next screen appears 5 seconds later or when some operation is performed.

2 Select [SCN].

3 Select the desired scene.

To quit the screen Select [QUIT].

NOTE

Most of the items in the manual setting menu are automatically adjusted in Scene Select. Therefore, they cannot be set in the menu.

! PORTRAIT:

Controls the exposure and color tone to bring out the people in the picture.

> LANDSCAPE:

Focuses in the distance and makes the entire scene appear sharp.

# LANDSCAPE & PORTRAIT: Makes it easier to focus on both people and scenery by using a wide angle.

$TWILIGHT:

Captures night scenes clearly by using a slower shutter speed.

% NIGHT & PORTRAIT:

Captures evening or night scenes in the background vividly while people appear sharp with the use of flash.

& SLEEPING FACE:

Records sleeping faces beautifully even in dimly lit places without using flash.

? SNOW:

Controls the color tone such that snow scenes appear all white.

( BEACH:

Captures vividly the blue sky and sea on a sunny beach without making the people appear dark.

) SPORTS:

Suitable for shooting fast moving objects.

* FOOD:

Captures food in its natural color tone without being affected by the surrounding lights.

+ FIREWORKS:

Suitable for shooting fireworks in the night sky.

, DOCUMENT:

Switches to macro mode with hard sharpness and high contrast.

- CLOSE-UP:

Switches to macro mode with high saturation.

. FOREST:

Saturation is increased and the color green is emphasized in this mode.

/ SUNSET:

Enables the beautiful colors of sunsets to be captured.
