Make sure to recharge the batteries before using them. The unit cannot be used to charge rechargeable batteries other than those specifically designed for it.

XL-PG5 comes with the rechargeable batteries. For XL-PG3/ PV300, obtain the optional batteries as required.

• Rechargeable Ni-Cd batteries (BN-R122)

2 pcs.

Recharging procedure

1 Insert the special rechargeable batteries into the unit.

3 When recharging is complete, unplug the AC adaptor from the power outlet and the DC IN jack.

Notes:

• It takes approximately 3 hours to recharge the rechargeable

batteries.

• Rechargeable batteries have a service life of approximately

300 charge-discharge cycles. If the operating time on one full

charge becomes noticeably shorter than it used to be, the bat-

tery has reached the end of its service life and should be re-

placed.

XL-PV300 comes with a car adaptor. For XL-PG3/PG5, obtain the optional car adaptor as required.

• Car adaptor (CA-R455)

The car adaptor can be used to recharge the unit’s batteries while in the car.

Using dry-cell batteries (not included)

After disconnecting the AC adaptor, insert two “R6” (LR6) alka- line batteries.
