Connecting to optional audio equipment

Connecting to a stereo audio amplifier/receiver

Connect the unit’s AUDIO OUT (LEFT/RIGHT) jacks to any line- level inputs (such as AUX, DVD, CD, etc.) of an audio amplifier or receiver.

NOTES

Be sure to connect the red and white plugs of the audio cable to the FRONT RIGHT/LEFT jacks on the rear of the unit, as shown in the illustration.

Set [ANALOG OUT] in the [AUDIO] preference display to [2-CH STEREO] (see page 38).

Connecting to an amplifier/receiver equipped with 5.1-channel inputs

The unit supports the linear PCM multichannel format of DVD AUDIO and can feed multichannel audio output signals from the six analog AUDIO OUT jacks.

It is also equipped with the DTS and Dolby Digital decoders. So you can enjoy any type of the high quality surround sounds by connecting the unit to an amplifier/receiver equipped with the 5.1- channel inputs.

NOTES

When using the 5.1-channel outputs of the unit, set the [ANALOG OUT] in the [AUDIO] preference display to [MULTI CHANNEL] (see page 38).

If you select [EXPERT] in the [SPK.SETTING] preference display, you can control the audio output balance of the speakers (see page 38).

You can use the yellow plugs of the audio/video cable for video connection.
