Operating Your Portable Hotplate

Using Your Portable Hotplate

1.Place the hotplate on a dry, level, heat resistant surface.

2.Insert the power cord into a 230V or 240V power outlet. Switch on at the power outlet.

3.Place the cooking vessel (ie. saucepan), in which the food will be cooked, on the hotplate. On the double hotplate (model KHP2) use the most appropriate sized hotplate.

4.Select the desired temperature setting using the temperature control dial. The temperature settings are adjustable on a scale of 1 (min) to 4 (max).

5.The red power ‘ON’ indicator light will illuminate to indicate the hotplate is on and heating.

6.To switch the hotplate off, turn the selection knob to the ‘0’ position.

7.Switch off at the power outlet and unplug the power cord.

WARNING: Always keep in mind that the hotplates, after being switched off, continue to radiate residual heat for a certain period of time.

WARNING: To achieve optimum performance, ensure the diameter of the cooking pot or pan is no larger than the diameter of the hotplate.

WARNING: No more than 5 litres of water can be boiled at anytime. It is recommended to use a lid when boiling water.
